Is it snowing? :) Or has the cold finally whipped the heater to the camera?

It's not snow, but it took me a while to figure out what the heck was going on today!

Last night there was a lovely full moon, which I tried to photgraph using the camera, but I couldn't see the moon in the viewfinder. So, I decided to try and grab a shot of the stars instead, and set the exposure time to 10 seconds...

Of course, I then logged off and left the exposure set to 10 seconds, resulting in the almost total white-out. I've fixed it now, so let's hope tomorrow's pictures make up for it ;)

It looks like the lens cover failed to open properly this morning. I hope I'm not going to need another camera any time soon...

There was some kind of bizarre power outage on the mountain two nights ago, which is why there were no pictures yesterday.

Upon driving up there and inspecting the systems, it was determined that the UPS for the computer was providing no power whatosever on the battery side - but the surge protected sockets were working just fine. The router was completely locked up and unresponsive, and several other pieces of equipment had powered down and needed to be reset to factory defaults before they would operate.

After several hours of troubleshooting, everything appears to be back online, thanks to Frank at Calsat, who drove up there to fix the internet connection (which is required for monitoring the state of his transmission equipment) and also restarted the imaging computer and camera.
